2080 is underperforming

Hello guys, I would like someone to give me reason or help me out as to why my 2080 is underperforming.

 

I look at results on YouTube, and they manage to get higher FPS, than I do, even with them recording.

I have looked at numerous websites, numerous videos, fixes, guides, you name it. None of them worked.

 

P.S. I haven't tried overclocking anything, so that couldn't be the problem, and I'm on the latest nVidia driver updates, and Windows update.

"Fixes" I've tried:

- Formatted twice.

- Tweaked nVidia control panel settings.

- Put it to high performance.

- Turned off background apps.

Make sure you have the latest drivers installed, and if you turn on vsync if your screens refresh rate is 60 you will only get 60 if its 144 you will get 144 fps.

what performance are you getting vs the expected performance?

For example, Valorant on low settings it wanders around 150-200 FPS, and that's with shadows turned off and everything.

also if the gpu is a different brand asus, evga etc it will preform differently

It's ASUS in the videos that I look, it's just 3-10 FPS difference between each brand, nothing major.

In some games, not Valorant though, it should be a really easy game to run, and it's giving me a major difference between results I look at, and what I experience.

are you sure that you have the same exact settings as the videos enabled?

Is your i9-9900K overclocked, or running at stock?

What is CPU are the reviews / YouTube videos using, and are THOSE overclocked?

Is your RAM plugged correctly to use Dual Channel? Meaning its in slots 2 and 4 instead like 12 or 34.

Can you please give more examples than Valorant please? 

Do you have issues getting to 100FPS in most games? 

Lets say, post a video you compare your performance with vs what you're getting. 

 

Honestly, just comparing performance vs videos is not very accurate as there may be many factors that differentiate the performance even if you both use the exact same system.

 This is with 2080S, but shouldn't differ that much, around 15-20 FPS difference.

You have to be careful...

 

That is NOT a stock i9-9900K in the video.

It says it's manually overclocked to 5.0GHz on all cores.

 

On average, RTX 2080 Super is 10% ~ 15% faster than the RTX 2080 non-Super.

On top of that, the video uses a factory overclocked RTX 2080 Super...

Oh right...

Only performance-changer would be the

• Overclocked CPU
• DDR4-3600 vs 3000 RAM (if Valorant makes use of faster DRAM frequency)
• Slight edge the 2080 Super has over the 2080

It might have a manufacturing error... Not sure though.
