Hi all,

I am working in AV Industry and extensively work on Autodesk Revit and Autodesk AutoCAD. Now, rendering Walkthroughs are going to become a new normal in my work. So, I need some help as to what PC components to go with or atleast what specs do I need to have a Quick render of the walkthrough of my project. Do "cores" or "GHz Speed" matters for 3D rendering? What level of graphics card do I need? How much RAM do I need? I want a PC under 2000USD.

Thanks!

For professional renders, it depends whether your rendering program has CUDA/OpenCL support or not. In engines that don't support CUDA (like the Fusion 360 built-in renderer) the best option is to go for as many cores as you can afford. In your case that would probably be something like a 16-core Ryzen 3950X or a 24-core Threadripper 3960X. If your program supports CUDA (for example Octane Renderer) your best bet is to go for a decent CPU and as many powerful graphics cards as you can fit. For your budget, that would be something like a Ryzen 3900X and a pair of RTX 2060KOs.

Another thing to consider is that 4000 series Ryzen is launching in the next month, so if you can get by on your current system for now, it might be worth waiting.
