DP to HDMI Cable Query

Shud i get DP male to hdmi female or DP male to HDMI male?

If for no other reason, I would get one that's male to male so it is just one thin cable from end to end, no thick section with connectors. That should make it easier to cable manage it and should also look better if it is going to be at all visible. 

 

Edit: Forgot to add, an extra connection will add an extra failure point. Not sure how much that matters since I've never had a display cable fail on me, but something to keep in mind.

I prefer the dongle style adapters since you can change the length of the attached cable to suit your needs if you move your setup around.

laptop with DP port to monitor which has HDMI port.

Then I would go for a single cable with male to male connectors. Less points of failure and easier to manage one cable then two.
