external monitor from laptop

Hi ok so would it be bad for gaming if you connect a laptop to a external monitor in my case the game would be fortnite

the laptop has Ryzen 7 4800H RTX 2060 and 16gb ram 144hz screen the monitor is 60hz 1080p

Well for starters you'll be limited to only 60 FPS max on that monitor. Any FPS above that is not being displayed.

Well then you would want to stick to the built in display then.

thats what im saying i dont mind the smoothness or the hertz im just looking for latency and input delay

there will be less latency/input delay on the 144hz one because of how it works. with a 60hz display a input will have not be seen on screen for 1/60th of a second. For 144hz, its 1/144th of a second
