Hey that might not exactly be for the ltt forums(since it's more audio related but not only with computers) but anyway I was wondering if my external fiio DAC(the q1 mkII) will sound better if I plug it in the laptop vs if I plug it in the iPad? Or is it gonna sound the same because it's the same external DAC and the audio is coming from it and the device has nothing to do with it?

it shoould sound the same I use a fiio mk2 for a portable application and plug it into my pc for IEM testing all the time. it sounds basically the same given the same quality music files.

There might be a difference in amp. Not sure tho. But the DAC is the same since you are using the Q1.

Hmm ok so you're saying it will probably sound either the same or very similar? Also I have dolby atmos for headphones purchased on the laptop and my headphones are the Audiotechnica ATH-M70X. Will Dolby Atmos work when I use the DAC on the PC? Because it only turns on if I plug the headphones directly into the PC will it recognize them if I plug them into the DAC and then the DAC to usb? I was wondering if I can use it with the DAC together for better audio(or at least more control over it since it has EQ).
