Samsung Trade-In Program

I was thinking of getting a samsung galaxy s10e directly from Samsung, I wanted to Trade-In my iPhone 7 but it is carrier locked but in perfect condition, can I still trade it in locked? I can't seem to find any information online regarding that the phone has to be carrier unlocked for me to trade in. Any help?

can you just sell it on ebay first?

Trade in programs usually undervalue you old phone.

They don't mention it in their Terms and Conditions so it doesn't matter.

Not this one. It seems to offer about the price you'd expect to sell it for on ebay. Of course it "used" to be 90$ which is a rip off but right now it seems like a great deal.

Yeah I agree, I doubt I'd get much over 125 for the phone especially since its carrier locked.

maybe not that low, about 160-200 bucks from what i see on reddit at hardwareswap/appleswap. 250 is about what an 8 or 8 plus goes for, that trade in is surprisingly good. carrier locked phones dont seem to be excluded but id read the fine print just to make sure. otherwise seems like a fantastic deal

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D

Carrier unlocking can sometimes be done for as low as $10, depending on the network, so don't factor that into a lower price if you're selling on eBay or some other used site. I just unlocked an iPhone SE 32GB for a whopping $9.99 CAD, so it's absolutely worth it to try selling the phone for whatever the going used prices are vs. trading it in.
