I have posted this one time before, but i have a few updates.

In december, as a christmas present i recieved a Hp Power Pavillion PC. It was pretty decent considering it had an rx550 in it for only $430 new. I started watching LTT tips and many more and started to realize what i had wasnt all that great. Long story short i now have an Rx580, Ryzen 7 1700, a 1tb samsung 970 evo ssd, and soon upgrading to a new case and motherboard, and by the end i wouldve only spent a total of around 800. Think my money is worth? or should have just built from the beginning? im curious to know your thoughts.

Runs GTA 5 full settings at 80 fps :)

Don't waste your money on a backplate.

It's a little bit funny, my first ever computer was a HP Pavilion 1360t back in 2013. Since then, slowly upgrading over the years, from GPU, CPU, etc. I'd still been using the exact same RAM up until last year, and I still have that first harddrive in my current build. As long as you're happy with the PC, it was worth it. I personally recommend my friends to start from a pre-built and upgrade if they want a system they're happy and they're willing to take time.

I wouldn't do that personally. Pre-builts can be hard/restricted to upgrade over time (depends ofcourse). And I'm using a pre-built right now :D. As for the OP, if you have 800 you haven't used yet, I would build from the beginning. Of course take that SSD and put it into your new build. As a general rule of thumb though, don't buy pre-builts if you plan to upgrade your computer more than the RAM & storage, I would say.

Basically it's almost always better to build your own computer / buy a "pre-made" computer from specialized computer shops than buying a pre-made computer. Perhaps if you can get a good discount deal, but even then... Usually not worth it.
