Hi! I am a young enthusiast of pcs, but as of now im in a bit of a tight spot as I am unsure to what laptop pick, it has to be powerful and good with battery but I dont want to carry around a behemoth which screams "HEY IM A GAMING LAPTOP, YOU CAN ROB ME EASILY IM BIG AND HEAVY" I have seen the Blade, but as far as I have heard they get many problems in software side(BSOD) or harware as in battery, alienware m15, it is good but I have seen reviews that complain about thermals, the zephyrus, like the G14, is good but lacks webcam, I am unsure if the 2060 is strong enough for current gen games and its virtually impossible to get, MSI for their laptops, as an example my brother(he owns one, GL63), has had his fair share of problems with mic, camera and uncompatibility with windows updates

(I CANT get a desktop, please dont tell me to get a desktop)

To robbers a smaller premium looking laptop is a far far far more likely target than a big boi gaming laptop :p.

Either way laptop gpu's performance scales with power which is why a 100w 2060 and a 100w 2080 basically perform the same as they are based on the same architecture. The 2080 is better in raytracing but you aren't going to do that on a laptop 2080 and still get decent fps anyways so lets just toss aside raytracing in games all together.

Now for laptops a hp omen with a ryzen 4000 cpu would be good or currently the best performing ryzen laptop with a refreshed 2060 (runs at 110w and has gddr6 making it one of the best mobile gpu's) is the xmg core 15 amd version. The laptop runs really cool and allow you to enter different performance profiles ranging from letting to cpu use desktop levels of powerdraw (72w) to reach desktop performance all the way down to be silent and don't to barely spin the fan mode.

If possible get the core 15 if not get the omen. On the intel side not much great as well you get less for more.

Ye, sorry to mention, not robbers at home, on the go, between University and home, sorry to not specify

Same story. The smaller it is the easier to nab. But then again you would not want a 17inch behemoth to take along as that is just not a pleasant experience (speaking from experience :p).

Hello NovaHoney!

Have you heard about 2 in 1 laptops? I think that would be an ideal option for you, just as additional information I have one and since then I am very happy to have a laptop that I can use to work as a freelancer, but I can also use it in my spare time as in the room, to watch series, study, etc, I recommend that you give them a look, all the best!
