Reddit youTube videos editor help

hi, i want to make a youTube channel to do reddit videos like "r/kidsarestupid" or "r/crappydesign". i don't have a very powerfull pc at all, i need a free editor the will work on a low end pc. got any ideas?

upgraded pc, i do not have the 2009 macbook any more,

try davinci resolve

What pc do you have then? Davinci resolve should work as should vsdc. Both would work on a 2009 higher end macbook just keep in mind the rendertimes are going to be loooong. Which isn't much of an issue if you let it go whilst you sleep.

 

Davinici also allows you to really optimize the workflow for older weaker systems which vsdc doesn't really do.

how do i optimize it, i have it downloaded

Honestly on a true "low end" PC, I wouldn't recommend Resolve. It actually doesn't run well at all on lower end computers.

Tell us the specs of the PC because "low end PC" isn't much to go by

Again what are the pc specs? A real quick optimization for smoother playback is to lower the viewport resolution a lot.

rx 570 ryzen 3 1200 but my 8 gb ram is the cheapest on amazon and it slows down my whole pc

very very slow ram on ryzen, i can not even play back in the editor

8GB is 8GB, it doesn't matter how cheap it is or who made it. I ran Resolve on 8 GB of ram for a long time without any issues, with completely standard settings. 

 

Edit: even the slowest RAM should do. Maybe reduce the playback resolution as @jaslion suggested.

i just can not figure out why it runs so prly on defalt settings, 720p, i have new drivers installed

480p playback and i can't even scrub without is freezing for a second

It also depends on the footage in the timeline. What's the framerate? What kind of codec does it use? What about the bitrate?

Also very much so depends on the storage medium. A hdd is just not gonna cut it at all. Also single channel 2133mhz ram really really really kills ryzen in anything.

You may actually be better off with imovie or final cut on the macbook if your ryzen system is this slow.

True, but I ran Resolve just fine on it for a few years. I do use a Ryzen 5 1600 though, but I figured if that doesn't get bottlenecked badly enough by the ram speed, that shouldn't be the issue here. I'd say it's just the CPU being too slow, the HDD being too slow, or the footage being very hard to edit (very high bitrate, weird codec, whatever)
