Will an old H100i work?

Hello!

I have an old H100i I have lying around from a PC build I made back in 2012. It hasn't been running since 2016 when I switched to a form factor that could not accommodate an H100i. When I stopped using it in 2016, it still worked perfectly fine. Will it still fit newer sockets for Ryzen or intel CPUs? I'd rather not have to spend the money for a new cooler.

Even if it was still working in 2016. The AIO has been used for 4 years. It is pretty much near the end of its life. You can re-use it, but it can fail soon. Start saving money for a new cooler just in case.

Its fine, I have one from...2012.  You can overpay for a mounting Kit from Corsair, or go to aliexpress for under $10 and wait a month for it like I did for any socket mount kit.  Right now mines cooling an FX 8350 (switched mounting back from AM4 after I ran my loop) and runs like a champ.

The only issue you may have is that there is probably some air trapped in that block, so when you turn it on make sure its run at full bore and oriented in a way that bubbles flow to, and say in, the radiator.
