AMDGPU passthrough

I'm thinking of passing through a PCIe card in a future freenas/unraid setup. Does amd deliberately kneecap cards and prevent non-workstation/server cards from working in VMs, like Nvidia's infamous error 43?

They shouldn't. I've used a bunch of random old amd and nvidia cards single system multi system vms. Sometimes I get errors but there are simple solutions to that.
