I was wondering if my current computer with these specs, listed below, would pair well with a new RTX 3060. I know I will need a new PSU, so any suggestions for it and other upgrades other than the CPU, MB, and Ram?

z97 Asrock extreme 3 motherboard

Asus Pheonix gtx 1050 ti 4gb

EVGA 80+ Bronze 450 watt psu

a few hdd's and ssd's

Update:

this is my current PCPartPicker List I'm not sure if the exact HDD's are correct but the brands and sizes are correct

Please let me know if you can not access the list and let me know what I need to do to let others access it.

We know nothing about the 3060 yet.

My best guess is that you would probably be fine, especially since you're coming from a 1050Ti. When upgrading you gotta start somewhere and in this case, that's your weakest link. So either way I would start with a graphics card upgrade and later upgrade the CPU if you really need to.

Wattage wise your PSU is most likely fine.
I don't know how it is with the quality of that particular unit tho.

How powerful is the 3060?  Do you have Cuda core and VRAM info for us to compare?

Maybe a new cooler. A dark rock pro 4 or NHD15 uotpreform most stock coolers.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

According to PC Part Picker I am maxed on power limit and that's why I have the concern, that is if the 3060 is true to be the rumored 180 watts.

PCPP adds a bunch on top and keep in mind that during gaming you probably won't hit the power limit anyway.

But now that I've seen 3080 power consumption, I recommend to upgrade either way.

Sounds good thank you

32gb 1666 memory

Why is your memory clocked at 1666 ? ... you enabled xmp and it did a bclk oc like mine does ?

I have about the same setup and was also thinking about that upgrade (from an rx 590) ... I'm hoping that it will be enough for 1080p between 75fps to 120fps gaming at high with raytracing.  For that we will have to wait tho ... maybe it will completely be limited by the cpu and a lot of performances will be left on the table ... that we won't know until the reviewer benchmark are out.  For now if I can  find a used 1080 ti or a 2060 super for really cheap it will probably be enough for me.

My ram has no passive or active cooling so I don't want to over heat the memory chips. I've looked around for heatsinks but they were all fake or overpriced.

A 1080TI will trade blows with a 2080 / 2080 Super. I highly recommend it, if you don't care about RTX and all of that. DLSS is a benefit of the 2080, but from what I've been seeing its useless at 1080p and can sometimes give worse Perf. than rendering in real time with no DLSS.

RAM doesn't overheat.  Do you have case fans?

Even without, RAM isn't a high heat generating component.
