I don't see why you shouldn't use it if you already have it . It will most likely be better than your onboard audio

Thank you! I am mainly concerned if it isn't worse, especially since it has "Windows XP and Vista compatible" text on the box😁

Hi! Recently I got my hands on two brand new Asus Xonar DX 7.1 Audio card, and I was wondering if I should/can put it in a future build? What should I ask for it if I want to sell it? Who has experience with it?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Only if the onboard audio is trash, and most onboard audio is at least usable today, but cheap MB's might still have bad builds.

I've bought mine for 80.- at the time, they are still pretty decent but require a floppy power connector and on mine. Seeing as a lot of onboard audio solutions have gotten pretty decent, I would not charge much extra unless you find an audiophile like me who needs more power for higher ohm headphones.

The card itself has drivers for windows 10 x64 and a working utility to go with it.

Specs are 24 Bit 192 Khz out and in with a dedicated headphone amp port.

The audio quality is much better than almost all Realtek solutions but you need high end headphones or monitors to hear the difference.
