RAM for modded minecraft server

 I'm going to be building my own pc soon. I'm going to use it for light/medium gaming and a "big minecraft server". In the server, I expect to have anywhere from 4-8 people and it will have 34-35 mods installed.  I have 1 stick of  Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM (16GB & 3200Mhz) but thats it. I know that's good ram but I would still need some RAM for Windows, but it would limit the Ram for the server to around 12gb. Which I don't think is enough in my case. Would I need any more ram than that?

Are you using a ryzen cpu for the server if so you really need dual channel ram. Other than that 16gb of ram should do the trick and worst case you just add more if it doesn'. 34-35 mods really doesn't sound like much. I've successfully run things like direwolf ultimate and whatnot packs with close to 3000 mods on a terrible athlon 5150 with 8gb of ram dedicated to the server with 5 players and it was fine. Just didn't like it when all players explored but that was the crappy cpu being the issue :p.

Ok! I think I'm set considering the processor that I will be buying is an AMD Ryzen 5 2600. IDK if this is important but the motherboard will be a ASRock B450M Pro4 Am4 Micro-ATX
