Tips for purchasing external webcam webcam

Hi, I'm looking to purchase an external webcam for interviews.

I'm looking for reliability, low blure and decent frame-rate (so it doens't look like lag). 720p is sufficient.

Has to be USD and work with windows. Good drivers are a must. I need reliability.

Adjustable FOV is a bonus (from software)

Embedded microphone is not needed.

Any tips and recommendations?

Whats your budget? The logitech c920s at $70 is pretty much the standard. It is 1080p 30fps.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I'd go for Logitech personally. There's a fairly standard one which keeps getting minor revisions and improvements over the years and it's very reliable, but irritatingly I forget the model number. I think it's the same one @zeusthemoose mentions.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

How about a 720p 60 fps options? I think that would be better for reading facial expressions.

I have a c270 that doesn't work. Sicne it's still recommended in a 2020 top whatever article. I'm going to try to fix it.

Ok How about something other than logitech as I hate my experience with the firm?

Their own camera isn't working and they don't even publish the driver that works for others that others are able to roll back to.
