Hi!

before  go on i apologize for my bad English and i thought that you should know that I'm a noob in blender XD.

So I've been trying to model a character with its upper and lower torso separate. However they wont bridge together for some reason blender keeps saying select two edge loops. The other way that i found out was to make them a single object by ctrl+j then bridging them. However since I'm using a mirror modifier it splits the upper body if its selected first and splits the lower one if that one is selected first messing up the topology. Both sides that need to be merged have the same number of verticies. any idea on how i should fix this?

again sorry for the bad English.

Afaik you have to do it edge by edge. You can’t do multiple edges reliably.

You can also merge 2 vertices  together by... alt and m?

Only 2 to become 1.

Yhere may be a tool to merge verticies within a distance but that’s not something I’d advise without learning how it’s meant to be used. It’s used in maya. Idk about blender.

So, if I am understanding this right, you want them to be 2 separate meshes, but the same object, yes? When you added the second mesh, did you do that in object mode or edit mode? If you add the second mesh in edit mode, it will be the 1 object, thus having the mirror modifier work on both meshes.
