Copying windows.old folder

So i know you have to copy windows.old by taking over the folder with the takeown command and i planned on backing it up to an external but i wanted to ask is it still possible to roll back if the original folder is deleted and you copy the one on the external back to the C:\ drive? Before i did do the upgrade i did make an image too just in case but hey if i dont have to use the image if i needed to roll back and just gotta use the folder instead might be less hassle.

It will not be less hassle, it will take longer. So remove your old folder using disk cleanup and use image when you want to revert changes.

Appreciate it, its done, that means the image at least would revert it back to win 7 but not too hard to upgrade to 10 anyway. Thanks.
