for sure B series MOBOs can support workloads for a long time , the X series boards are just a higher end model but there aint much difference between them and make sure to get a b550 mobos if choosing B series since they have pci gen 4 which doesnt even cost much more than b450 , the new rtx cards benifits a small percentage from pci gen 4

i would say b550 boards will be amazing for workloads but after all u are spending money , so IF u want u could go for X570 boards but x570 mobos hav inbuilt fans and i have seen some situations in which  people say the fans are too loud , X570 mobos are amazing ... not much difference the x570s have a better chipset , nothing more than that

Actually b550 ATX motherboards does support dual gpu but there is a problem , as far as nvidia had told , THERE IS NO SLI SUPPORT FOR RTX 3070 infact even the 3080 doesnt have sli support , so its Absolutely useless for getting dual GPUs ..... dual gpus were a part of the past .... there is literally Very minimum performance increase with dual gpu and its not recommended to run 2 different gpus on the same pc since it has a chance of damaging some of the components ..... RIP SLI
coming back to your subject , yes the b550 mobo i recommended does support dual gpu , but it has only one lane of pci gen 4 , but is the same case with x570 boards at this budget , but of course the more u spend , the more benifits ,so if u get more expensive mobos, some of them have 2 lanes of pci gen 4, so its according to u to get b550 or x570

Autodesk does recommend going with Quadro for their suite though (so Autocad and Revit in your case), so you could go with an RTX 4000 but then you'd have to sacrifice on most other components in the build.

Also if you need to build the system now, swap the 3070 out for a 2060 Super.

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

Display: Gigabyte G34WQC
