Can't get my ram back to 3200 mhz - ryzen 2600 with a b450 mobo

Few months ago I decided to add two more sticks of ram (8+8) to my current build so I can have 32 gigs, it went very smoothly and everything was working amazingly.

But few days ago I started having blue screens and boot loops which only ended by disabling the d.o.c.p profile which lead to the ram running on its base clock of 2133mhz.

After a lot of tweaking and with the help of Dram Ryzen Calculater I managed to get it up to 2933mhz which clearly impacted the processor's performance.

I updated the bios and tried to redo the whole thing but without any success!!!

2933 works because the memory controller supports up to this frequency.

Past this is an overclock. Results are not guaranteed above 2933mhz.

The only fix would be to upgrade to a 3600X while this chip will support the 3200mhz frequency.

Pretty sure any Zen 2 chip supports 3200mhz ram. 3600 is cheaper and gives only barely worse performance.

anything over 2933 is technically not guaranteed to work with zen +, and the imc is subpart and 4 sticks is quite a bit stress on that subpart imc, you could set the soc to 1.15 and dram to 1.35 and try 3000/ 3200 but if you couldn't get to that, 2933 should not impact the performance by anything huge.

No sir, each generation supports up to a different frequency.

Zen = 2667mhz

Zen+ = 2933mhz

Zen2 = 3200mhz

Edit: OP has a 2600 not a 3600....

I know, I was suggesting a 3600 instead of a 3600x for the reasons I stated in my first post.

Gotcha. My misunderstanding, I'm sorry.

Ok so looks I was lucky to be able to run it on 3200mhz!!

and so Zen 2 is limited to 3200mhz ? Cause I thought that 3600mhz is the optimal ram speed for zen 2!

zen 2 can handle 3600, anything over 3200 is just technically not guaranteed.

No what I meant by zen 2 can handle 3600 is that it's not limited to 3200.

depends on memory choice and motherboard.

Results vary.
