I'm just curious, can you make your AMD video card work for physX? Is it possible?

Like for example you have GTX 770 which is your main video card & AMD's R9 270 which do you want to have only for physX. Can you do that? Or it's impossible on AMD card?

Physx isn't anything special. Only a few games support it and it isn't game changing.

PhysX doesn't run on AMD cards, only Nvidia cards. When you have an AMD GPU the CPU does the PhysX calculations, but as stated above there aren't many games which use PhysX (I know Trine and Trine 2 are two notable games that do, you can search for a larger list)

"PSU brands are meaningless, look up the OEM."

no you cant use the 270 as dedicated physx card, youd need a secondary nvidia card

It is Nvidia only, just like mantle is AMD.

Thx for replay guys. That's what I wanted to know :)

About PhysX. Well, yes, not only game uses it, but most of the games I play use that feature & it adds incredible beautiful effects.

I wanted to test the performance with PhysX benchmarking software & I got quite interesting results:

First I ran it where my main & calculating device of PhysX was my GTX 770. This is the score & fps I got: 3861

Then I set my CPU as calculating device & for main card GTX 770. Result was horrible & fps was also very low: 1608

And finally I set my GTX 560 only for calculating PhysX & maind card as GTX 770 & difference was like 10fps boost & even more comparing to first case. Here's score: 5244

P.S. These benches were ran on 1080p preset mode.

Also while playing Warframe, I notice GPU usage during PhysX effects was sometimes up to 68%, so I think with another card for PhysX you make your main video card's work a lot easier.

For now it is, but mantle can be utilized by Nvidia too if they want to.

Well yeah, just making a comparison as of right now.
