This is going to be a long post, but Hello and welcome to my hell,

Recently here i got a new GPU to upgrade on my PC. I was previously running an Asus 970 and have been for about 4 years. Since then i have upgraded my CPU, MOBO and Memory without issue, and everything has worked great for the past 2 years. Now after dropping in the new GPU, i have had nothing but strange crashing problems.

Modern Warfare has inconsistent results. Sometimes i will get into a game and run around a bit, then proceed to crash. Sometimes while loading into a lobby it'll crash. Usually i get some form of directx error, specifically Dev Error code 6068 or 6070.

The other more demanding game I've tried is Assassins Creed Origins. This one seems a bit more consistent as it crashed a few times when i hit combat. Sometimes it did when i was just roaming around but no other real inconsistencies on this one.

I also tried GTA 5. I felt like i should have been able to hit higher graphics settings but i was able to have a lot of stuff on high/max and it ran with really decent frames. I was unable to replicate a crash on this one (i believe it was running dx11)

Now onto what ive done to troubleshoot:

Started off using DDU to get fresh driver installs. Then i got a new SSD (which i was planning on doing anyways) and get a fresh OS install. Then i wiped all my games off of any drives and reinstalled MW on my new SSD. Ive verified no OC on GPU is running, no overlays are on, checked windows updates, tested with different refresh rates, multiple DDU wipes and fresh driver installs, Performed clean boots for testing, Deactivated my intel GPU since i dont use it.

I am quite certain i am running into software mainly because i have ran stress tests on my GPU and it held temps fine and never crashed while running more than twice as long as any of my tests in game.

Now one of the weird instances ive noticed is after testing with my 970 reinstalled, i am having weird issues with what looks like lag in MW. I frequently have people freezing and animations stuttering even though i use ethernet, no one was using the internet, and had 70 ping (i have played previously with 90 ping and never had these issues).

I have been going crazy over here and am nearly ready to send this gpu into the atmosphere but idk what to do at this point. I am currently tempted to send my pc to Memory Express but at this point i want to try what i can to avoid this.

There may have also been some steps that i took while testing that i forgot about so please let me know what i can try.

Thanks for checking out my post

Edit: Above all probably the weirdest thing i failed to mention is that i have previously used this card already. The guy had asked that i test it and never had any issues on my machine with it, and he said since then it never really got used. So idk how this makes any sense but please let me know if anything about this sounds familiar or possibly fixable.

GPU is MSI GTX 1070 - RAM is Corsair LPX 16GB 2133MHz - Updated to latest BIOS which was needed but not the resolution. Previous card was Asus Strix gtx 970 and new is MSI GTX 1070
