TX550M w/ 12pin gpu

Go to solution Solved by AndrewZScorpion,

If it has two 8 pin connectors, Nvidia includes an adapter. 550w might be enough for a 3070, but not 3080 or 3090. Most if not all AIB partners are doing dual 8 pin connectors.

There will be an adapter

do you mean is 550w enough?

it has 8x4 cables, so it should work

NO...

NO...

Wait for the reviews before doing anything as nobody knows for sure how much power the new 3000 series will draw.

Exactly. It's all speculation based on Nvidia's TGP, though the 220w on the 3070 makes me think it wouldn't draw more than 300w, so they should be fine in any case. Still rather let the benchmarks do the talking, though for the 3070, that won't be for another month at least, but we could speculate from the results of the 3080 compared to it's TGP.

That 12 pin can handle a lot of power, much more than the 150+150 of the dual 8 Pin standard.

We all will just have to wait and see in the end...
