Galaxy S9 - WiFi disconnects in sleep?

So I have a Galaxy S9 SM-G960W,

Whenever my phone is asleep, the WiFi/Data connection becomes unstable, and only connects sporatically.

This is a problem as Whatsapp web browser, and whatsapp calls do not come through to my device unless my phone is awake.

I've done a factory reset, and it still persists. I don't have the option under Wi-Fi -> Advanced to keep Wi-Fi on during sleep, as was mentioned in some solutions.

What can I do to help fix this? The phone is out of warranty, though I don't even know if this is something wrong with the phone, or intended for power savings. It wasn't like this when I got it, but could have started after a system update.

Does it happen with only cellular data enabled?

Or with only wifi enabled?

Or only when both are enabled?

I only notice it on WiFi, but I always have both enabled. I'll try disabling data to see if it helps.
