Hi All,

Hope you're doing well!

I've been using my old NZXT S340 for quite a few years now and as i travel quite a lot due to being a University Student some damages have occurred!

I'm hoping to get a new case as soon as I can ready for the RTX 3080 Launch.

I use an atx motherboard (Gigabyte Aorus GA-AX370-Gaming 5 AMD X370) with the ROG Strix 1080Ti Currently (which I guess is a fairly long card)

Would you recommend sticking with the same form factor of Mid Tower, or perhaps move to a smaller form factor case?

Any recommendations on anything is appreciated, and if you require anymore information feel free to ask!

Many Thanks,

Wolfy

Do you have a budget? The form factor of your system is your preference, really. If you want to go mATX I don't think there are many cases that would be incompatible with it, CMIIW.

Main Rig :

Ryzen 7 2700X | Powercolor Red Devil RX 580 8 GB | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 | 16 GB TeamGroup Elite 2400MHz | Samsung 750 EVO 240 GB | HGST 7200 RPM 1 TB | Seasonic M12II EVO | CoolerMaster Q300L | Dell U2518D | Dell P2217H |

Laptop :

Thinkpad X230 | i5 3320M | 8 GB DDR3 | V-Gen 128 GB SSD |

Ah sorry forgot to add a budget!

My budget would be up to around £150 or about $200 but if there are decent options below that then that's great!

As for the option of Micro Atx I guess that isn't possible with my current motherboard? And i'd like to keep that for now.

Feel free to recommend some mid tower or full cases then!

Cheers,

Wolfy

Make sure to quote so people can see your reply. 😀

Cooler Master NR 600 is a good option. They have good airflow and pretty affordable.

You could spend the rest of your money on Noctua fans to make it dead silent. That's what I'd personally.

Alternatively, you could blow it all on the case. There are plenty of options in those expensive price point from Fractal Design or Phanteks.

hmm... is it often enough that a laptop would make a huge difference?

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

I'd expect in the next year or so i'll be travelling with it another 4/5 times, but i'd rather stick with a desktop! Tried a laptop and didn't enjoy it

I use my Microsoft Surface Pro for my University work so I do have that. All be it's super underpowered with an m3-7Y30 processor (so I'll need to upgrade that at some point)

Thank you for the recommendation!

I had a look at the case, but it doesn't seem for me.

It looks/feels to similar to my current case, so a bigger upgrade I think than that would be in my best interests!

I'll keep looking and watching other videos on cases though!

Cheers,

I'd start from Gamers Nexus yearly case videos. They make great case reviews.
