Cannot download programs on the windows 10 store

When I try do download any program on the windows 10 store nothing happens

its been doing this for months now and i have no idea why

just got error code (0x80080005)

Revert any changes you made using gpedit and/or 3rd party tools that prevents Windows update and store. This may be firewall, defender settings, update settings (also in registry) etc. If you made any changes to improve your "privacy" using some tools - revert that changes. It's all about settings - if you block updates, many other things will be blocked too.

I had this when updating to 2004, but it eventually just sorted itself out.

Did you try using: Windows Update Troubleshooter

(Settings > Update & Security> Troubleshoot > "Additional Troubleshooters"  (link) > "Windows Update".

 

If that doesn't help, make sure your Windows Update services are running:

Open Command Prompt / PowerShell as Administrator then type and execute:

net start wuauserv
net start bits
net start cryptSvc
net start msiserver

And check for updates again.

When updating to 2004 I had problem on few computers where DNS server was not set to auto and some network functions don't work. But it's not 1909 problem.

FOUND A FIX. I know this is old but I've spent like a year trying to figure this out. Store is related to the windows update service. I would get error 0x80080005 if I tried to update. If you looked at windows update in service it might be stuck on starting. I even did a clean in stall of windows probably 3 times. Windows tech support even abandoned me after the 7th time I've reach out to them. I just accidently found that REMOVING ANY 2ND SATA HDD'S fixed it. At least for me. My main OS is running on a m.2.
