I purchased this PC from ABS on new egg a few days ago. I wanted to see the temps it was running at and it was running at 98C under load. So i ended up turning it off and noticed that the AIO water cooler had no flow when in the Bios and ended up swapping the cooler from the CPU_OPT to CPU_FAN after reading a few posts online. I actually see the flow on the Bios now but its still running pretty hot. With these specs is this temp expected?

Note: It ended up coming with the I9 10900KF instead of the I9 10900K.

100 degrees indicates a problem. First thing Id check is the thermal paste between the CPU and AIO.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

if it's a prebuilt, contact them and tell them this issue

I'd just upgrade the cooler and ditch the known problematic AIO situation you're in.

Thanks for the reply! This is the cooler that they gave me "Gamdias CHIONE M2-240R All-in-One Liquid". Do you think this cooler is bad? Or maybe something isn't setup properly? Or most likely the thermal paste?

ABS doesn't pick up the phone. I called them a few times like when i found out they scammed me by giving me the wrong CPU.

Thats because they are owned by Newegg and Newegg is known to have poor customer service.

I've never even heard of that cooler...... No I wouldn't trust it. I don't even trust the Corsair variant, even though through the years the Corsair AIOs have improved quite a bit.

This one has a really small cold plate, questionable pump and really small lines. It's not moving enough BTU for sure.

If the rad isn't blowing warm at those core temps, the cooler is Not working correctly at all.

Yeah, It's a really shitty situation. I got scammed by getting a KF instead of a K. I also replaced the ram with 32 GB of 3600 MHZ. And now its running super hot. I contacted newegg support on twitter about getting the wrong CPU and they said that i would have to return it. I really don't want to go that long without a PC so im just trying to fix it without sending it back. :(

The Rad is mounted at the top of the case and the top is REALLY  hot to the touch when under load which is what made me want to check the temps in the first place. If the tops where the rad is hot that means its working right?

i would start by checking if they did any OC on the CPU

and if they did, reset to stock and see temps.

if not, either figure out if this cooler is badly mounted or it's just not good

or buy a new cooler.

That's a good sign actually yes. But also bad at the same time.

So My theory here is the pump is slow and the radiator just isn't large enough.

Not having a reservoir (storage capacity) really makes AIOs not so great for moving a lot of heat.

If the fans are ramped to high, and it's still that hot, you gotta replace the cooler.

Also, Case flow is important. Are you sure the case isn't heat soaking from the video card and being drawn through the radiator?

It has 4 fans plus the two on the rad for a total of 6. I think they all might be pulling air in but im not 100% sure on that. Would you recommend not going with AIO coolers? if and when i purchase a new cooler? Also what cooler would you go with?

Do you think that it could just be plugged into the motherboard improperly? xD

If you feel the radiator is hot, at least we know it's working

How's the air flow in the case? Try opening the side panel to see if temps drop significantly

I recommend you take a picture of the Case so we can see which way the fans are pointing. Be sure we can see the back side of the fans. That's the intake of it. Some need to blow fresh air into the case and some need to blow out too.

Config looks okay though front panel seems too be choking air flow

Tried running with side panel open?

Make sure top fans spin

Looks correct and clean.

The cooler isn't enough for that chip. (Needs 360 radiator minimum)

What is it some 300w at 5ghz I think? (full load)

(That's 1025 BTU/hr roughly)

Spend the money on a decent upgrade.

Find a custom "Kit" or something that you build.

Will come with a halfway respectable waterblock and pump + that reservoir.

Probably the only way to go with a 10900K imo. Beast

Until you do get a new cooler, see if disabling HT and or some cores helps. At least you won't throttle as much hopefully....

The top fans spin to the counter clockwise so its sucking hot air from the case through the rad. You think if i flip those it will keep the rad cooler and lower the temps?

There isn't enough radiator and fluid to dissipate the heat the cpu makes. Period. (sucks I know)

See my above post, I did edit it ^

no that would create turbulence

did you look into the bios to determine if there's an OC?

You think this would be an okay upgrade? https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-floe-riing-rgb-360-tt-premium-edition-liquid-cooling-system/p/N82E16835106503?Item=9SIAPBUBTR9346
