Buying used PSU

That's why I said BUDGET MODEL originally.....

The CX (grey) series isn't "budget" PSU if budget means cheap. It's actually one of the better PSU for the money, and I don't see anything wrong with buying it used.

Unless it's very aged (like five years or more), then in which case it might be more worth it to buy new.

Of course I wouldn't buy a PSU used personally because who knows how's it's been treated. But if OP knows that his friend doesn't mistreat things then why not.

Well the PSU is fairly new about 1 year almost as mentioned in the first post, my friend has used it good, the motherboard was some old and board not sure which one tho may also be that it's not plugged in correctly haven't diagnosed it (I'm the go to tech guy)

The RMX is not....

THAT is an excellent PSU, one of the best you can get.....

Line up goes... VS, CX(M), RMX(I), HX(I) and AX(I)....

Although I believe the RMX(I) and HX(I) are the best Corsair make. Not so sure about the AX(I)...... It is a premium PSU though no doubt...

It's up to you to evaluate the risk. I can only give general guide

Look for signs of choking the PSU intake, or if it's intake is from within a case that has bad airflow

The CX is rated at 40c so if internal temps are higher it could be a problem

I'm from a third world country, and "budget" means very differently here (I've seen crap)

For your build (off the top of my head)

R5 3600 and 2060(?)

A CX should do just fine, I wouldn't recommend splurging on a premium PSU with a build of that caliber.

But it's near the border where I would recommend an RMx series, an R7 with xx70 series GPU.

I know exactly what you mean....

I know it's hard in some Countries with all that's around these days.

The Premium PSUs can be VERY expensive and hard to get.

yeap evaluate your choice

remember to evaluate the risk of buying used vs new, especially if the price difference is not huge

i would pay $20 to have a peace in mind
