Is a GTX 1070 enough for 1440p 144hz 32inch ?

Sougan

Hi everyone,

Lately, I've been saving up to upgrade my graphics card and monitor, and recently i've Seen a deal for the LG ultragear 32VK650F-B (1440p, 144hz, 32inch) pop up on Amazon for 280 euros.

Right now i have a GTX 1070 and i was wondering if it will be enough to (comfortably) run games on the monitor while i save up some more for a new graphics card.

Thank you very much for your responses.

Well it depends on the game but I would say that it would be able to run many newer games at 1440p, maybe not at 144 hz ultra settings, but definitely above 60 for medium-high settings.

Depends on the game, but for modern stuff (last 3 years or so) no. Not unless you crank down the settings a lot and/or settle for 60-ish fps.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i can't get near that on mine with medium to high settings, low settings maybe on some games. i would settle for decent 60fps+ since you can get the monitor for a deal, and live with it until the new gpu.

What games do you plan on playing? In games like ghost recon I get around 70-80 FPS on I think high settings, around 110 on medium In hyper scape, and easily way over 144fps on csgo with highest settings. I have a 8700k with my 1070.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I can confirm this. I'm personally using a 27" 1440p 144hz monitor and a GTX1070 GPU. Most modern games does not come close to hitting 144 fps at Ultra settings but has no problem maintaining 60+ fps (depending on the game). I would assume you'll have a relatively similar experience with a 32" monitor.

That is a bargain for that monitor!

Grab the monitor and use low settings if necessary until you can afford a suitable graphics card
