thermal grizzly is a bit expensive in my region id rather go for one of these 3 instead

which would you recommend?

I have not used any of them myself. Arctic is popular or you could look at the thermal transfer rates. This is also a purchase that will improve you computer performance for a year or two, so an extra few bucks may not be the worst thing in the world.

I have an old laptop (Dell XPS 15 [9 yrs old]) that's been running quite hot. I want to apply some thermal paste in hopes of bringing the temps down a bit. I found these 3 options online that I'm interested in, which one should i buy?

How is thermal transfer measured?

so i just checked

Arctic has 5.6w/mk (i'm assuming this the thermal transfer rate you were talking about)

CM MasterGel has 5w/mk

I build computers for people that may never replace the paste so I want to last a long time.

I use Noctua NT-H2.

It does well in tests, lasts long and is relatively cheap.

Well I mentioned this but this paste is for my 9yr old laptop which is mostly used by my little brother to play roblox so im not sure if i want to spend that much on thermal paste.

I get that Noctua is really good but that is just too expensive for me

Considering it is a 9 Yr old laptop the heat output should not be that much

I have used this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00YCMR04Q/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_i_z34JEb4C280BD

It works fine for low power components such an my Intel celeron 540, however t would not use it for performance composts due its 1.8 W/m-k compared to Noctua or Thermo grizzly at 5 W/m-k
