Hello, I am a starting freshman in college and my university provides both for free, Microsoft office and the google suite. Which one would you guys recommend using? I have a pc, laptop and a galaxy note 20 ultra for my devices. I've been using the google suite now for four years but I think office might be more efficient to use since the programs run locally and you don't need a web browser to get to them on a pc?

If you don't have any experience with office I would at least try it so that you know your way around for a job after school.

Ok, I will try it, that's what my dad said too. I needed to download office anyway since our classes use Microsoft teams to meet virtually.

I would use mix of both. Anything needing to be used over multiple devices and on the go, G Suite. On main PC and laptop, Office. The main reason I favor Office is that I have more experience with it. Yet Google Sheets is for any time I need to compare stuff, do lists etc.

And if you need to do special things using Sheets/Excel, the teacher probably has guides on their favorite plus maybe some tips for using the other.

Well.. you have Office on Android and iOS, and you have the online version (which is also free) which works with pretty much any modern web browser, which can be used if you are under Linux (and of course Mac also have Office there too, or you can use the online version).

I'm aware. Mobile and web version of Office just feels limited compared to Google. Though I haven't used it in such extent in a while.
