Intel celeron d 365 or amd dual core @2.66GHz?

If the AMD is an Athlon it will beat the Celeron. Celerons are cheap and perform poorly, even the dual core ones, whereas even the older Athlons tend to be quite good.

GeForce 7300 doesn't stand a chance, I guess you could pop a 750ti in there (inb4 someone tells me it bottlenecks). But at least if he acquires something better later he isn't using a garbage GPU.
