Windows update gone wrong

Hey everyone, 

I updated my windows before I went to bed last night and now windows cannot verify itself on my computer and wont let me use my headphones or speakers but my mic works, I have not changed any hardware recently. Since reaching out to Microsoft is difficult any leads possible here help. Thank you.

Since it’s a Windows update issue From what to what versions will likely be needed.  Will also likely need make/models of affected hardware pieces.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
