This has confused me for a while, and ive always forgotten to ask, and finally remembered today. In the TechLinked channel, in nearly every video, the host says "and now time for the quick bits" and then give the sponser of the video. But then after the sponser, they say "time for quick bits" again! im so confused.

i know its a stupid post but whatever

"Now it's time for Quick bits, bought to you by *our sponsor* "

*introduce sponsor*

"Quick bits! .... *the quick bits"

I guess it's because they want to remind us that we were on the quickbits, in case you forgot?

Either that, or the sponsor spots were recorded afterward for the youtube audience. If I remember correctly there's no sponsor spots on Floatplane? (I dunno, I'm not subbed on there)

It's probably because you don't want to just suddenly jump into the sponsor messages, as the viewer may think it's the end of the video. By saying the quick bits will be coming up before the sponsor message, people will stay around.

By mentioning the quick bits again after the sponsor message you will make sure people know the sponsor spot is over and the quick bits will start.

Totally had the same question. They're supposed to be shorter stories, aka "quick bits." They're not usually, and that's why Linus always makes up a dumb name for them. He mentioned it in their one million subscriber special I think.

Didn't Linus just think (during the NCIX days) that the name 'Quick Bits' was silly and that is why he made up weird names for it?

I thought he said he thought the name was dumb because the stories weren't shorter but you could be right too.
