Can't remove the neck from my Samsung Monitor

Im moving to another city and my not even 1 month old samsung monitor has its neck stuck to the stand and I need to remove it in order to pack this thing in its original box, the instructions both on the manual and the box appear to be simple enough yet, i've tried to remove this for about 2 hours with moderate force but im afraid to damage the screen if I pull any harder, maybe the instructions are unclear and I'm doing the wrong motion, I'd be very grateful if someone could help.
