im trying to build a pc and with windows 10 can i get it for free? i see a 60 dollar deal for windows home license key but i see i can just use a usb to download it onto my pc for free what is the difference im getting confused

The cost is for the licence/key. The install tool does not include a licence or key to use Windows and you will be prompted to enter a product key to activate Windows.

You buy the key, you use the install tool, you install Windows on the PC and input your product key to activate it.

i saw a video and it said it would still work without the lisence key

Windows will work the same except that there's a watermark in the bottom right corner and you can't customize the theme and wallpaper.
