Hey everyone! I’m brand new here, so if I got the category of this question wrong, please forgive me. So I was building a PC on PCPartPicker and and it provided me with some notes. I genuinely have no idea what they mean so if someone can help me understand them, that would be greatly appreciated. So they are attached below. Also, can someone link me to the adapter that is required based on the notes? Thanks in advanced!!

For the first one, your motherboard doesn't have a type c header. So that port won't port on your case.

The second one, since you have a M.2 drive one of the SATA ports are disabled.

Thank you! What is a SATA port though?

First note:

The case on the front (top) has two USB ports. One is the more regular USB 3.2 Gen 1 A port ('normal USB 3.0'), while it also has a USB Type C 3.2 Gen 2 port (different form and it's faster). Your motherboard has a connection for the USB A port, but not for the USB C port.

Either you need to get a motherboard that does have the connection on it, or you need to live with the fact you can't use the USB Type C port on the case.

Second note:

This is less of a 'warning' and more of a 'hey, keep this in mind'.

You are using an M.2 SSD, which installs directly on the motherboard. PCPP just notifies you that one of the six SATA ports on the motherboard will be turned off. SATA ports are used for internal hard drivers, SSD's (that are not M.2), optical drives (DVD, blu-ray, etc.).

It's just to keep in mind:

a. you now have five SATA ports left

b. don't use the SATA port that gets turned off (if you're using another HDD/SSD/optical drive).

Did you want critique on the entire build? Because in my personal opinion it does not make much sense to get a Z390 based system nowadays. It makes more sense to either get something LGA 1200 (10th gen Intel) or Ryzen 3000.

Thank you! First of all what is the type c port good for? Is it for VR? And second, how will I know which SATA port is inoperative? Thanks!

It's just a faster USB port with a different physical shape.

The motherboard manual usually has a table or note that shows you which SATA port(s) get turned off.

Oh an do you have a different motherboard recommendation? I’m running an Intel i7-9700k

Do you already have the CPU or any other parts?

Yes @minibois

These motherboards would have the correct header for the USB Type C port: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#xcx=0&c=135&N=4,16&O=1,2&sort=price&f=2

It's this specific connector I'm talking about:

P.S. I would like to reiterate it only makes sense to go Z390 if you already have the CPU. If not, an i5 10600 system makes a lot more sense.
