Hello guys, my brother is about to build up a computer for the first time with a ryzen 3600 cpu.

he plans to game with 60 fps and streaming at the same time (use the cpu for streaming encoding)

now ive started to notice a few things from this particular cpu.

1-with stock cooler it reaches up really high temperatures which are concerning imo.

2-is there a way to reduce the temperatures even with stock cooler? perhaps modifying something in the bios

3- modifying something over the bios will it break the warranty from AMD?

4- i saw something about disabling precision  boost overdrive and core performance boost does improve temperatures quite alot but it prevents reaching to 4.1 or 4.2ghz

5- hes not looking to overclock at all

thanks for the time invested!

What do you mean, high temps?

I'm using stock cooler, default fan curve, Arctic silver thermal paste and even when playing games 60fps + streaming max temp is like 55C (which I personally consider very low) for reference idles at about 30-35c,  even during summer when my room can be like 28C.

So yeah,  how hot does it get?

  1. No concern if it's under 95c
  2. Not really. a minor undervolt at best.
  3. Technically speaking, yes, modifying the voltage parameters breaks the warranty agreement. (nobody tells the truth though)
  4. Correct, PBO off = max P-state clocks under load.
  5. The Cpu overclock's it'self, that's what the "turbo boost" is all about.

If you know someone with a stock Wraith Prism cooler they aren't using, see if you can pick it up cheap. It'll look cool and do a fine job cooling the 3600.

im just gonna clarify some points:

hes gonna build this pc he doesnt have it yet, but as he was looking on youtube videos from people that already have their own builds

he noticed that a few of them gets to really high temps with stock cooler, so he was concerned about it, but then he found this video

and well the changes are quite drastic.

this is the build hes gonna have:

keep in mind the gpu is something im giving him as a gift, since i have one and its just stored.

again he doesnt wanna overclock and i just read that the cpu already does it for you, being that said, is there a way to disable that then?
