Stripped fans?

so I was screwing in my case fans and after some tighting they became loose and they dont tighten anymore, are they just junk now?

Eh, its probably fine unless they seriously don't even hold anymore.

 

Remember, computer parts don't need to be super tight. Nothing in there is really going to see any load, just hand tighten things, don't need to put real force into anything.

You're essential screwing into plastic, overtightening them can strip the threads so don't do it too hard

 

As for if they've become junk, probably not

3 screws is fine, even 2

 

Even if all 4 threads are gone, use zipties or tape

No. Tbh as long as the screws still go in the case correctly, that's good enough.

Nothing some hotglue won't fix

 

Any time you use screws in things that are plastic, make sure to only tighten them to "this doesn't move freely", not "so tight it will never come out with effort"
