I was poking around amazon for computer/server parts and came across this. Is it a scam or a really good deal. I do know that it’s renewed but the list price for new is 1100 dollars.

Are these useful for anything? I mean if they are only 20-70 bucks they can’t be used for much.

Not really, unless you get one for free. They're old, slow and power-hungry. Even a quad-core, low-end Ryzen 3 3300X runs absolute circles around that thing.

If you can get them for really cheap, you can run a home lab if you have any use for that. If you can find used hardware that's compatible with it for cheap it could make sense. Maybe a stream encoding system, maybe if you want to run a server, or any other solutions you can come up with.

if you could find components cheaply for it and had a very specific workload that benefits from quad channel memory despite each channel being pretty slow (ddr3) then it would possibly be useful ish

but you can just get a first gen threadripper for that
