Hi,

I recently got a new laptop to replace my older laptop.

I added the Japanese Language Pack (that is the thing that can allow me to type in Japanese right)?

I tried to rip some Japanese CDs into the digital file, and I noticed that all the names with Japanese are in "??????" (as shown in Windows Explorer screenshot). This is the case even if Windows Media Player shows the proper Japanese names (as shown as Windows Media Player screenshot).

How do I fix it so that the "?????? appears as correct Japanese text when I rip CDs? I don't recall having this issue in my old desktop or laptop.

do note that some things might break when you do change it

What does that do exactly? and would i need to change it when i rip CDs in a different language?

Why does WMP show that it is correct but then show it isn't when I rip?

foreign language software? as in Microsoft's language pack?

I'm only using windows explorer, microsoft's japanese pack, and Windows media player.

Why does my identical settings on my old desktop and laptop not have this issue?
