Don't be lazy. It only takes a few minutes to swap power supplies.

Edit: or do you mean that your HP motherboard is not compatible with standard ATX Power supplies and doesn't have a standard 24pin motherboard connector?

The technical answer is yes, you can. But no, you shouldn't...

You would have to jump the GPU PSU every time you turn the PC on. Just put the new PSU in.

Is it being a proprietary mobo an issue?

Yes i am pretty sure its not standard 24pin and i dont have the mobo im going to use in my new case yet. Should it be ok to run like this until i get new psu? And if yet then how would I go about doing it? It should only be about a week or so.

There are chinese companies that make adapters for 24 pin to proprietary motherboard connectors, you can usually find them on ebay if you really want to.

Yes. If it didn't have the standard ATX motherboard connector you would need to find a adapter compatible with your motherboard that will adapt the 24pin power cable from the motherboard to whatever proprietary connector the motherboard is using.

Which motherboard are you going to use?

If you're buying a new ATX motherboard then just wait until you have the new motherboard to use the new PSU and graphics card.
