I have an external western digital my passport ultra 2tb, that refuses to detect on my desktop, but detects just fine on my laptop, any ideas?

The drive shows up as good on crystal disk info, with less than 900 power on hours

It sounds like your desktop may need to have a setting changed for USB storage devices.

open disk management and assign a drive letter on the partitions.
