I got 5 Corsair sp120 RGB PRO fans two cable coming from them [rgb/power]. Running on my b450 tomahawk via Lighting Controller that came with the fans. Can I connect these fans to a commander pro with the lighting controller to control lights and fan speed all in Icue. Or do I need corsair RGB fan led hub instead?. I swear corsair like to make things difficult when it comes to there fans . Cheers

Using a the RGB FAN LED HUB + Commander Pro, you can control lighting and fan speed in iCUE.

You would connect it like so:

Will i have to set the fan curve up myself to stop them from spinning to max all the time .Cheers

Unfortunately I don't have first hand experience with iCue + Commander Pro, but from what I can see you will have three profile by default: quiet, balanced, extreme. All three pose a different mix between noise level and temperature.

By default the fans wont be at 100% at all times, you can choose one of the preset configs and can also make your own custom setting.

I do have one. This is correct, but i do prefer to run fans from the motherboard headers when possible. ICUE acts a monitor software. If the software crashes, fan speed can get locked, become erratic, or default to full speed. Also many monitoring software(s) for ryzen are off by some degree the fans rpm may change or not change do to the monitoring software not being true. Then of course you have the other issue when benchmarking and having multiple monitoring software running on a ryzen build make temps higher.

One other thing to watch out for is if you use a separate lighting software for something like ram. this service sometimes like to override ICUE setting. MSI dragon center like to do this. there are settings in ICUE to stop from happening tho.

So ya...

I read on Internet that even when the software crashes the fan curve is still working because icue is only the interface and its running another programm on background which handles the fan curves still when icue is crashing.
