So here is my situation. I currenly have 2 GTX 1070's one is a Zotac and one is a Gigabyte. They currently sell second hand for 160$, 307$ respectively where I am. I found a brand new RTX 2080S for 1129$ where I am and that is much cheaper compared to other places where I can find that card. Since the cards in my country are overpriced as hell. My question is should I sell my cards now and get the 2080S? Or should I wait for the new cards to show up in my country. Which might be much more expensive than what the 2080S is now.

I would wait for new cards (like the 3000 series) so that old cards will drop in price. Two 1070's should be working pretty good still.

One caveat: if you wait for other cards' pricing to drop, your used ones will also drop their resale price, negating any gains. The question then becomes do you want 2080 performance, or are you hoping for more?

Well I only play on 1080p 144hz for now. However in certain games like warzone in high density areas I cant achieve 144hz at all times. So I was hoping to boost that performance with a 2080S. Well currently money isnt the issue. Will the 3000 series be so much more faster than the 2080S? and will it be worth the wait and the price?

And to add to that I was gonna go for the 1 powerful card versus SLI. I only have 2 1070's because my friend had a spare and decided to give it to me.

I wouldn't do SLI with RTX. According to my sources it isn't worth it performance and price wise, unless you're going for the pinnacle of performance.

For SLI with 1070's, not sure if that will be better. Here is a comparison that I found, you might be able to find better ones by searching it.

Yup I meant I was gonna go for a single 2080 S instead of staying with my current SLI setup.

The majority of the rumors say the 3090 will be about 35-50% more powerful than the 2080TI, so you can probably scale up the estimated performance for the other cards as well. If AMD releases Big Navi and gives Nvidia some actual competition on the ultra-high end around the same way they did the 5700XT, then you're almost assuredly going to see prices lower than what this gen brought.
