I live in a rural area so internet options are limited. so I pay for a 10Mbps line as much as others pay for a 10Gbps line.

and this is the Highest speed currently available in my area.

when I do a speed test my results are comparable to what my ISP is providing me normally 7 to 10 Mbps, 60 ping, 4 jitter.

but... when I actually try and download anything from anywhere the speed of my downloads is only 1 to 70 KB/s ( 0.008 Mbps to 0.56 Mbps)

is this normal? what should I do to try and get my downloads to reflect what My ISP and Speed Tests say I should be getting?

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

thank you for reply. I did some pathping and tractrt and found the 4,5,6,7,8,9 hops from me were getting 100% loss and also zayo.com my 10,12,13,14,15 hops were having 75%to 100% loss so. I hope they fix it soon

They likely won't fix it until you let them know about it, and tell them exactly where packets are being dropped, which router its occurring at.

What kind of internet do you have?

What time of day is this happening?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
