Depends on your usage pattern, but I think I'll go with desktop. They are easier to upgrade, though at a cost of bulkiness and having to carry your monitor, mouse and keyboard with you if you are travelling.

We need more information on your use case tho in order to help you make a decision.

Laptops and Desktops both have their advantages and disadvantages and its up to you to decide what weighs more for your use case.

I travel about twice a year for about 2 weeks

can you do without PC in that time period? or must you game even while traveling?

how far are you traveling? are you willing to lug around a full desktop setup including a monitor?

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Not very far

tbh no one can decide for you, only you can decide if you're willing to lug around a full desktop setup

but tbh if you wanna game and stream, you probably should also get external monitor and kb for your laptop anyways

but u can do 2 weeks without those

again, it's up to you

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Surely you could go 4 weeks out of a year without video games.
