Nzxt v3 fan controller issues

Go to solution Solved by Bombastinator,

It sounds like there are two problems.

problem #1 an issue with fans which you attempted to avoid by deleting software creating

problem#2 an incomplete software deletion

problem #1 needs more information helpful info might include:

what make and model of fans?

what controller? (use of the word Implies one separate from the motherboard)

what nzxt software?

problem#2 sounds like you installed a program as admin adding it to all accounts, but did not delete as admin so it removed it from just your account.  This computer may have some unusual privileges a set up.  Still short on info though:
what version of Windows are you using?

Hi I have a problem. I’ve just installed 3 extra case fans down the front of my pc just for extra cooling coz of the new rx 5700 I installed a couple weeks ago. And apparently the controller only allows 5v per channel and the fans I have are from pc specialist on the fans it says 12v. When I boot up the pc they all turn on until the nzxt software comes up asks to make a change to the pc and shuts all the fans off except the cpu fan. Why is this?. I’ve uninstalled the nzxt can software which stops them from turning off but then when I change user to my brother account the software is still there ready to fuck the fans right between dem tight propeller slots any help is appreciated.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I need help with my nzxt v3 fan controller doesn’t support 5 case fans only the cpu fan works. The nzxt software turns the 4 fans off after boot. The max voltage per fan controller channel is 5v but the fans says 12v on the front of them, is this why?. Do I need a better fan controller

Do you have an exact model number? "nzxt v3 fan controller" brings up more than one result.

It says the input is 12V. Output is 5 Watts per channel. That's likely still at 12V.

Did you change any settings after installing it or did your fans just stop right after installing the software? It sounds like a 0dB feature.

Really sorry for the late reply but. For a few days after installing the 3 new fans they worked fine until one day I booted up and the nzxt software asked to make a change to the pc then a soon as you click yes they all turn off?. I’ve tried uninstalling the software but it fucked up and dident uninstall properly. I haven’t had time since I’ve been working 12 hours a day. There is a noise sensor attached to the controller aswell.

The noise sensor is why I'm kind of wondering if it is suppose to be behaving this way.

I haven't worked with the software myself but does it give you individual fan control? What happens if you try turning them up manually?
