GPU STUCK IN PCIE SLOT

McMonty
Go to solution Solved by HenrySalayne,

If you tried any other option, remove the mainboard (with the card) from the case and try different angles to get it out. You might just not have the freedom to move the card in the right direction.

My GPU is stuck in the pcie slot of my asus prime x470 pro. only the right side is in the socket but i am unable to unlock it with with tab because it has somehow locked itself in to the socket with only the right side of the card in. the card cannot be moved in or out of the socket due to it being locked and the locking tab is jammed. PLEASE HELP!

carefully and gently push the lock down/aside (depending on what kind of lock it is)

use a long stick to do it if your cpu cooler is in the way and your hands cant reach (not recommended tbh)

just be careful not to stab a hole into your motherboard if you slip

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Can you angle the display side of the card up at all to relieve pressure on the latch?

Moving the card in any direction doesn't seem to do anything. I also cannot move the left side of the card inwards (towards the motherboard) at all.

If you tried any other option, remove the mainboard (with the card) from the case and try different angles to get it out. You might just not have the freedom to move the card in the right direction.
