It's not technically legal to install Google apps on a Huawei device that didn't come with them, especially not since Google has been told by the US government to not allow this for the foreseeable future.

Huawei can't sell a phone with them becasue it's currently illegal for Google to give them licenses, but users do whatever the heck they want. They might be violating some Google terms of service but it's not "illegal".

So using a product without a required license is not illegal?

So you won't be apprehended for driving a car without a license either? Funny country you people live in.

Call it semantics, but I consider this illegal.

The license is granted by Google to Huawei. I'm not in that loop.

1. Good luck finding a working method to install Gapps. We dont even know what model of phone you got. Dont expect people to do your homework for you.

2. It doesnt matter if installing Gapps on a Huawei phone is illegal. You do whatever you want with your phone. Huawei isn't going to sue you. In fact they will be happy for you because you are still determined to use their product when most other people would ditch the brand to get Gapps. No one is going to come after you for using Gapps. In fact it is the US and not China who is trying to control how you can or cannot use your phone. China has lots of censorship yes, but that is besides the point, and they do not censor to the point where takes away functionality of the products you buy or be a ditrement to the user experience.

I'm out

i'm not asking for steps. i'm just asking does gapps works for resent huawei's

(honestly, i hate huawei)

It works on my recent Huawei, installed them 3 months ago and still works. Procedure was a bit of a pain, but worked.

I used this:

Had to redo the thing 3 times with factory resets at the start and between each but it eventually worked. Don't know if things have changed since.

No, simply flashing Gapps will not work, regardless of the phone model

Before you even get to flash Gapps, you need to unlock bootloader to get a custom recovery

Huawei does not allow bootloader unlock, and no one makes custom recovery for Huawei models as a result of that.

The only way to get Gapps is probably via exploits and elaborate install procedures that do not resemble how Gapps is normally flashed on non-Huawei phones.

I dont use or buy Huawei phones either. But its because they dont allow custom roms, and not because of one orange man's vandetta against a single phone company

thx

lol on orange man
