What gpu should I upgrade to?

Go to solution Solved by mbntr,

1660 Super if you need a GPU now and you don't have much money.

The next gen will launch soon but only the higher end models, so if you can't wait OR you don't have much over 250, then go for the 1660 Super

So next gen is around the corner and I'm looking to play games like cyberpunk and resident evil village on high settings 1080 to possibly 1440p with a smooth 60 fps and little to no bottle neck. Should I go for a gtx 1070 or maybe a 1660 super or maybe something else? I currently have an I5 6500 and an RX 570 4gb with 8 gb of dual ram

As the next gen really is a couple of months away I would just wait.

Afaik NVIDIAs new generation is launching next month. I'd just wait a few days more until making a decision.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

PSA: No, I didn't waste all that money on computers, (except the main one) my server cost $40, the intel NUC was my old PC (although then it had 8GB of ram, I gave the bigger stick of ram to a person who really needed it), my laptop is used and the second PC is really cheap.

I like tinkering with computers and have a personal hatred towards phones and everything they represent (I daily drive an iPhone 7, or a 6, depends on which one works that day)

I mean sure down the line but I don't plan on over clocking anything. I'm  most likely just going to get a 1660 super next month and that only needs a 450w

If anything I would get a CPU upgrade along a GPU rather than upgrade the PSU but I'm on a budget and I thing a 1660 will suffice

well, the power wont be an issue just that its a low tiered psu, if you want to risk something to get fried then its up to you.

if you want to get more out of your money now then go for a 5600xt albeit a bit overbudget but it would perform better

Ah okay, yeah I'll look into a better PSU along with the GPU upgrade. But my current build isn't at risk with my PSU right? I mean my RX 570 and I5 is fairly low power

you should be fine for the most part, but i wouldn't keep it for the long run.

the PSU isn't something i would want to mess with
